She was an avid vegetable gardener and was also known for her ability to grow beautiful roses. Among the abilities that graced his life with joy were golfing, scouting, fishing, and music. He enjoyed watching and coaching his son Brock play football and baseball. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 7, 1961, the son of Donald and Helen Payne. She was employed at the F. F. Mueller Center for 16 1/2 years and she was a domestic engineer. She was born June 15, 1945 in Springfield, the daughter of Carl Sylvester and Luella Faye (Stumbo) Smith. A celebration of Bobs life will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Knights of Columbus, 2055 S. Bird Rd., Springfield.
